problem with stereo

hey guys, i know the basics of installing an aftermarket system..however my friend has i believe an 06 monte carlo ss with the factory cd player.. i ran his power, ground, speaker wires, remote wire correctly..however he hooked up the rca cable to the amp and cut the other end to run into the rear speakers..when he plugs in the rca's to the amp the speakers make a "pop" sound, but if you pull the rca cable out from the amp just a lil bit the subs start to play..any help on this would be great..hopefully i described the prob well enough too...thanks

He needs a line out covertor, the signals going into the speakers is amplified by the headunit, and the input needed on the amp is low amperage signal.

Get a line out converter from walmart or stereo shop for under 20 bucks....

and probably another set of RCA's since you said he cut his.

Just one example:

[click for link to walmart's page]

It will be easier to wire in at the headunit, then to try and pull from the speaker end of each wire.
