OEM SUB Sounds like shi*

So yea Last night I realized I had a factory sub under my seat. It sounds absolutely horrible. It bottoms out at like volume on 5 bars. If youve ever heard someone that has like 2 12's in their trunk of a car and just rattles the ever living sh out of the trunk. is what it sounds like. Could it busted? Bought the truck about month ago. I believe Im just gunna take it oiut and put 2 10's

Yours must have something wrong with it or might be blown. I could turn mine almost all the way up with no distortion or problems with it at all. I replaced mine with a JL10w1 in the factory spot and it sounds much much better, but the stock one sounded great.

Dont get me wrong It sounds pretty good. But then it sounds like it bottoms out. or its banging against something. So I checked and there nothing under there. I mean maybe Im just used to the JL's and not a factory sub

Apples and oranges man. The stock sub sounds good for stock, kinda. It's NO where near even a crappy aftermarket setup.

Ok so I worked with it a little today. and turned my bass down a bar and it helped tramendous. sounds pretty dang good for a stock sub. Kinda had me second guessing about spending some money on subs but..... I think Im just gunna go ahead and sell the 6 cd changer head unit and the factory sub. what do they usually run?

I have the Audiophile system and it's pretty good for my needs.. mind you, I want to be able to hear when I turn 40

Anywho.. different songs have different bass levels, I adjusted my settings to: front driver, fade out the rear a little, treble nearly max, bass half and it sounds pretty decent.
