sub placement?

sub placement?
i am going to start work on my jump seat/sub console. and was wondering if i would get better sound fireing the sub down(into the floor), or facing it to the dash?

i listen to rock and hip hop music if that helps. just not sure which placement would give me the most bass. the woofer is a 10w3v3 2ohm.
