Audiophile vs Saleen Box

I was wondering if anyone on here has swapped out their Audiophile system for a Saleen system? If so what is the difference ....huge minimal... dissapointing... just wondering what to expect.... You would think going from an 8'' to a better 10'' with more power would make some kind of a difference. I am just wondering please post some thoughts on this..... If this was covered previously ...I sure could not find it...... Also If you have one for sale I am all ears as well....

I am with you,I was going to buy audiophile but from what I read it looks like the saleen would be a better buy if you can find one. I looked on ebay and can't find nothing for the saleen box .

I already have the Audiophile and from what I have heard , it really sounds decent. It is not loud thunderous bass by any means but it is decent low fill for a factory setup. I am really wanting to know if they are interchangeable ...ie unplug audiophile and plug in saleen or is there a different harness?? Would it be worth it??? It might come down to the fact to leave well enough alone !!! I am curious what everyone on here thinks about it.

I just installed the Saleen box last night, it really sounds great for a factory unit. I am not familiar with the Audiophile sub so can't really compare the two. The kit I bought on Ebay came with a T-harness and install took about an hour by flashlight, really simple. Im using the Pioneer Avic Z-2 head unit and it all works together flawlessly.

I still have factory everything....H/U door speakers everything... I was really thinking about replacing my door speakers and the rear sub, but just want to know if it would be worth it. No plans to replace H/U dont want to lose steering wheel controls and that factory look

The sub is great, I had a chance to tweak the settings and it has way more bass than even sounds good, it makes the whole truck vibrate! quite a surprise. I don't know if it's partly because I have an aftermarket head unit or not, I say if you can find a Saleen box it would be worth picking up for a couple hundred, im sure you could even sell the audiophile box afterwards.

My understanding is that the Saleen box interfaces with the stock speaker wiring which are high level outputs. If you already have the audiophile, then you have a radio that has a seperate (third) plug that is used for the factory subwoofer connection in the head unit with low level outputs. I'm not sure what would happen if you don't have anything plugged into the head unit for the sub, but it's something I would want to know before trying the saleen unit. If you're looking for more bass, I think you could do better.

Saleen Box

it is my understanding that those of us who want one, but do not have one are SOL! Apparently, the company that made these has gone under. Damn economy!

I believe Saleen sold all their excess inventory and the purchaser sold them all on ebay and now they're gone. That doesn't stop you from making your own. The sub box is made by Q logic. The box alone is $280, so these $200 ebay prices for a plug and play sub were really good deals. It's no wonder they're all gone.

I had the full Audiophile system and have now swapped it all completely out and the sound difference is night and day.

The Audiophile sub works great for someone with basic stereo needs. It has plenty of bump and sounds good, but leaves a bit to be desired.

I put in a premade box off Ebay w/ a 10" JL 10w1 in it for about 120 shipped. Then spent another 100 or so bucks on a Kicker 300.1 and it sounds AWESOME.

I also swapped out the stock deck for a JVC Double din and swapped all the speakers for 2 pairs of Rockford components. The JVC and RF's made a pretty good difference, but the JL and amp makes a HUGE difference.

I would have liked to find a Saleen box, but this box and amp is a fantastic other option that blows the Audiophile out of the water!
