I do understand how to read it Bflat FSharp etc. But I would love to really learn to write music and play an instrument fluently.

heh, being a musician helps you know how it things should REALLY sound. thats one of the reasons I cross over @ 120 Hz instead of lower is because I know that kick in the chest is right there and crossing over lower will divert that dynamic energy away from my 8's.
