New Setup...Need Advice!!!!

Ok, so I went to a local car audio place and here's what they set up for me
Boston Acoustic S-series speakers at 99.00 a pair
Kenwood 638 Headunit at 189.999
Rockford fosgate punch 500 watt amp at 299.99
two rockfosgate punch p3 10'' subs at 139.99 each
dual 10'' sub box for under back seat at 100.00

A couple other small things plus them installing this for me is running me around 1,450.00

Am I getting ripped off? or is this a good price....i wanna see this number more around the 1,250.00 range and I do not want to spend any more than that.........are there any ways to find the equipment at a cheaper price somewhere else? or do i need to go with lower end equipment to make the numbers work???

any opinions will be very helpful.....thanks

Doesnt sound too far off on price, maybe 150 too high (* but that REALLY DEPENDS on labor prices in the area *). Normally, the installers will have a idea of a price when certain things are met.

if you arent going to install it yourself, then you are kinda limited. cause alot of shops will jack up prices if you don't buy the equipment from them

only buy one pair of speakers, that will get you a little closer. rear fill is kinda pointless
but really, for 100~200 bucks, save up for a couple more weeks and get what you want, it will be worth it

Don't take it to any places like Fry's, Best Buy, or Circuit City unless you want some high school kid who doesn't give a crap installing all your equipment. Those places are a joke.

Have you googled a genaric search for stereo shops and your city? Usually a bunch will come up and sometimes there will be reviews on some places.
