yea the ideal would be 2 10's sealed under the seat and a ported 10 somewhere else...but I just dont have anywhere else to put a ported box without taking up my back seat...eh this is annoying...so pressed for space in our trucks...im thinking 2 10's will be ok...maby a pair of those shallow mount kickers with like 800 watts pushing them.

Chea those Kickers do get quite loud for what they are - definitely one of the louder shallow mounts. Ive got one on 400 watts (a 10") and it gets the job done.

there are only two applications I would use a ported box for... home theatre, where you have the room for a proper ported box (mine is 6 cu ft for 2 12's) or if your 16 and you want the rest of the world to know you have beats
x2 for the most part. I have heard a select few mobile audio ported applications that sounded incredible though.

But i personally prefer sealed anyday.

6 cubic feet
Thats not that big.
You could do that easily in any SUV, and probably the back of an ext. cab truck or small hatch back...

its bigger than the 1.25 ft under the rear seat.. I was going to do a single 18 in place of my back seat but a 20 cube box seemed kinda crazy

Ah gotcha. I thought you were saying you cant have enough space for a proper enclosure in any mobile installation.

ryjay7887 what are you compary you one 10 too for loud??? i have one kicker comp cvt (the lo pro) and it hits pretty hard but someday i will be definitly adding another one. i'm pushing it with a 1000.1 memphis (1000rms @ 1ohm) but this is sub now is no where near my 2 10's (memphis power reference) in a big ported box in my civic, or a 1 12 (cheap mtx) in a huge ported box all powered with the same amp. i built my own box for under the seat in my screw at first it was down firing but redid it and now it's firing up and it's much louder and clearer

If your asking me what am I comparing my 1 10" sub to, I am comparing it to my setup I had in a 2007 ford focus hatch...the same ported box with the same amp. I could barely sit in that car when it bumped. I took it out and had relatively the same effects with that big ported box in the f150 but with my sealed....maby, and I mean maby half as deep and half as loud. like I said, plenty of airspace, its at the kicker recommendations for optimal. that's why I started this topic. I'm very iffy to purchase a 2 10" under-seat sealed box if I will just have the same outcome with my big bulky ported kicker box. I wish there was a better way to describe this better to help you guys understand.
