Help a newb "05 Supercab Speakers"
In one of the posts I read on here, Somebody recomended not replaceing the rear door speakers but didnt elaborate as to why. From what I see, they are either standard 5x7 or 6x8. Is there a clearance issue or something I should know about before I go buy 4 new speakers?
Next Issue, same problem
I am debating putting the stuff in myself, but the stereo shops around here are drivin me nuts. Telling me stuff I know is not true, like "This is the only head unit on the market that does front usb and aux input", or "we need to build a custom adapter because nobody makes a quality 6x8 anymore". I could go crutchfield, but if I buy from crutchfield, get stuck and have to bring it in, they will charge me out the rear to either put it in, or fix what I broke, cause I didnt buy from them. I have done (alittle) stereo stuff, but only in older 1980's 1970's vehicles, and dont want to screw it up. Any advice?? Or anyone know a not so crooked stereo shop in Austin TX.
Thanks
I saw this link in another post you did. Already considering doing it myself but I would like a backup plan. How do you feel about the circuit city/best buy guys if I get hung. They seem to have the lowes (fubar) correction charghes.

I replaced my front and rear speakers with Polk audio 5x7's. I am running a Shaker 500 head unit from a mustang but may swap it for after market since hooking a sub to it appears difficult in the F150. I would swap the speakers. It is not that hard. I did all 4 in less than an hour in the dark.
Rear door clearance
Okay, about to order some 6x8s from crutchfield, but back to my origionall question. If if get some deep cone speakers, will it hit the glass in the back door? :santa:
You can get pretty deep back there.
