JL Audio Stealthbox

Just wanted some feedback. I was looking at the JL audio stealthbox for my 08 supercrew. JL advertises that it "raises the base of the seat slightly". Pictures can be deceiving, so does anyone have experience with this? Is it noticeable and does the seat lock down in place? TKS!

I've got one in my 2005 SCab and it fits fine, the seat locks down no problem. Good sound too!

I really keep debating getting one. NCSU, I assume you are using the 10w3, do you like the sound? Does it have good sound quality? Would you say it hits hard?

I got mine used off eBay, they show up there every now and then. The sound quality is quite good and it hits pretty hard. I've got mine hooked up to a bridged JL 300/2 and it'll shake the truck.

I've got one in my 08 Screw with a JL 250w, it hits pretty hard with no interferance with the seat.

I just got mine put in the truck today and it does sound very nice. I had a couple RE Audio SE10's in my old Ram 2500 running off an Eclipse ZA1200 amp in a sealed box and it hits almost as hard as those. Sounds great I think. I got mine used off of eBay for around $300. It is the older version with the 10w3v2 in it though..... I just couldn't see spending over $600 for a new one with the 10w3v3.

There are a couple more floating around on eBay as we speak.......

Ditto that for mine. Another reason I'm running the 300/2 and not a 500/1.

sub box

I ended going with a custom box and an RF 12" shallow sub. I am shocked at the SQ from the RF. A whole lot cheaper than JL's stealthbox set up and I doubt I gave up much in the SQ department.

3 Questions

1 What's the difference b/t the 10w3v3 vs the 10w3v2

2 Will I have to remove my Jack

3 I know that the enclosure covers from the middle of the truck behind the driver's seat but will I be to install an amp in the middle under the enclosure? Is there enough ground clearance for one of the new Alpine Amp's (MRP-M500). The reason I ask is b/c I have an amp installed under the middle of my seat now. I don't want to install anything on the back wall.

Thanks

1) The "v2" and "v3" are "Version" markers. The v2 is an older style of 10w3 subwoofer than the v3. In practical terms, the only difference I know of is that JL rated the v2 at 300W RMS and the v3 at 500W RMS.

2) Yes.

3) No.

Thanks a million. In this case its out of the question for me. I'm looking for 500W RMS but I'm not looking to remove my jack or install a amp on my back wall.
