Water in speaker location

Hey guys I just replaced my factory speakers with some JL Audios in the front door. It had rained the night before and I noticed on my passenger side there was a little water collected in the speaker mounting location and the outer sheet metal of the door was wet. Is this normal or to be expected? Anyone else have this problem?

Doors can under normal use get water inside them. They are designed as such, notice the water holes at the bottom of them.

two elongated holes, right above hem{doorskin folded over frame} on the interior {bottom} of the door....right where all the mud collects, the factory also sprays a thin coat of a wax type substance to aid in diverting water to these holes, Rocky the robot dosen't always cooperate and may pile it up on one end of the door or the other, a stiff piece of small diameter wire should unclog holes..... maybe not the solution but, worth a shot.....hope it helps!

My IDs are built with rubber protectant. Dunno about other manufacturers. You can build sheet-metal baffles for water protection though. I've seen it done on DIYMA.

haha, that car was such a hunk of junk. I traded it in with a drivers window that was stuck up and passenger window that wouldn't roll up. the glove box wouldn't close. the headlights wouldn't pop up. the interior lights half didn't work. the trunk wouldn't stay proped open. it had a dead battery. the lifters were ticking. the oil pump was on its last leg. it had no radio, speakers, antenna, or rear windshild wiper thanks to me and the fender would turn from black to milky blue in thee rain

How much did you get for trade in? Hell, I bet it was worth more as scrap metal.
