i say go w/ the L5's, the square shape give about as much cone area as the 12" cvrs and they handle 50 watts more rms a piece, dont get me wrong i love my cvr's either one will make a good choice...

LOL i would never replace EDs with kickers. EVER. I have yet to hear a kicker subwoofer that wasn't so damn sloppy.

But if you are in high school going for the boom boom, then i guess go for it.

agreed, if you like your SQ at all, save up a little more and look for something of higher quality. but if you don't care about that, go with the L5's: nearly as big as the CVR's and ported.....should be a bit louder.
oh, and you will never notice a difference of 50 watts

Funky Pups. But you might need to fully box your frame to run those. They break ****.

Hey guys, just checking out the Boston G5's... looks like a great deal $400, buy one get one free. Thinking of getting a pair of these for my new Crown Vic Police Interceptor, ideas? The small air space requirement scares me a little bit, unless that is just a minimum air space recommendation?... lots of room in the trunk for a bigg(er) box. I was looking at two Type-R 12's but these seem like better subs. Looking to spend under $600 or so for two 12's.

Well I was on craiglist and I seen someone had a few CVR kickers in a small sealed box only asking $100.00 so i picked it up nice lil set up once I opend it he was only useing 1 VC on a 2 VC subs at 4 ohms with a 2 ch amp after seeing They are 4 ohm DVC I was bummed because I want to run at 2 ohms I did re wire all the subs to get all the VC running but of corse still at 4 Ohms witch meanes I can only draw 600 watts from the alpine so back to looking for a better set up

Those Bostons are nice.

With 600 bucks i'd look into a pair of used IDMAX 12s or SI Mag v4 12s.

Or if you want it friggin loud then get 2 12L7s and port them. A friend of mine had that for a while in his trunk and although it sounded incredibly sloppy, it would get stoopid loud.

yea, but with a pair of ID's or SI's he would need another amp and electrical. those G5's would work perfectly with the amp he has
