Sub and amp help!

My friend is giving me 2 10" subs and a amp for free! But here is the catch, I want to use my stock head unit. Is this possible? If it is, what parts do I need and can I do it myself. Ive installed a aftermarket head unit before. Any help would be great. Thanks for all your help.

It is possible to use your stock HU... All you need is a Line Out converter which you would tap onto your speaker wire and it would give you the rca outputs that you need for your amp... the only other thing that is different when installing to a factory HU is just that you will need to find switched power for your remote wire on the amp instead of hooking it up to the remote-turn-on wire that aftermarket radios have, you would have to use the radio's switch power or tap onto a fuse..
