Help me choose. Polk or Fosgate

So I'm about to order some speakers today and can't make up my mind if the price tag on the Fosgate P1682S are worth the extra dough for the two tweeters or if I should just go with the Polk DB 571's, which are on a buy one get the other half off right now.

And if I do go with the Fosgates, what should I run for the backseat?

BTW I've got a Pioneer AVH4000 to run them off of.

my vote goes for Polk. I am not much of a Rockford person, and have run Polk all around in my past 2 vehicles. I have sold lots of people on them and everyone is very satisfied.

I am a bit biased tho... i have polk 5.25 components in front, 5x7's in the rear and a polk 10" sub

At the moment I am leaning that way. A friend has the DB 571's and they sound pretty good but he is running them off an amp. The extra tweeter would be nice if I were to run subs eventually but at the moment I'm not.

I put 5x7s in my cousin's F150 all around and an MTX 10" sub, and it sounds great. he bought the speakers for the same deal you are looking at. we put a cheap refurbished 4ch MTX marine amp which he got for around $40 off ebay on the speakers.

they will still sound great without an amp.

yup, thats all. if you want them plug and play, get speaker adaptors to (it plugs into the factory plug and converts it into the plug required for aftermarket speakers. remember, if you are going to change them yourself, the fronts are easy. the grill just pulls off. the rears require you to take the whole door panel off. still pretty easy tho

Polks FTW. Fantastic value, and they are great "easy listening" speakers.

if you just have the regular non-amped system (6x8s all around), then you will need one of these per set of speakers

I'm ordering as we speak. So I just need to include two sets of the above product to install them, for 4 speakers? BTW I'll be installing myself so easiness helps.

I have the RF's I picked up here...

I can say that I really don't need that second tweeter. Dang things can get ear piercing. Mine are amp'd however. I'd say go for the Polks and spend the money you save elsewhere.

Thanks for the help guys. The order has just been confirmed and will be here in a couple days. I really liked how they included the adapters for free, saving 25 bucks, thanks Crutchfield.

Thanks for the help guys. I just got done putting the front two in and it was a breeze. They sound much better than stock but they do get distorted when I turn the radio almost all the way up, which is a lot further than I could with the stockers. At normal volumes they sound great.
