Plans for a system

Alright guys i was thinking about upgrading my sound system. I have the audiophile and i love my little sub... Buts its just not enough. Also i really dont wanna blow the budget on this. Im just looking for a little more thump and SQ. This is what i was thinking:

1 10" Fi Audio Q Sub with BP Power - $300
Alpine M2000 Amp - $400
Alpine W205 HU - $700
LMI Seat Lift - $150
Custom Box - $300
Wiring/Installation - $200

Tell me what ya think

If you are going to do the seat lift, you might as well get a 12" woofer. And if you are only doing 1 sub under there, you may want to look into a ported box for maximum output.

Also, you may want to replace the speakers to keep up with your substage. You dont have to go all out and spend a ton, but maybe some alpine type-S 5x7 coaxials to run off the headunit. Trust me, its a big difference over the stock speakers and they arent very expensive.

PS install will most likely cost more than that for everything unless you know someone.

Well, I would go a different route. If you are looking for SQ oriented bass that wont let you down like an HBO ****. I would shoot for two 10's and at 85$ a piece you cant go wrong.

Sundown Audio is having a clearance sale on their SD-1 v.2's. They are 4.5" deep so a seat lift isnt required. And you can tone down that amp choice. Instead of the 2K you are lookin at. Itll save you 5-600 easily. Then for the box go to supercrewsounds.com.
My Way:
320 - Sundown Audio SAE-1000D
170 - 2x SD-1v.2
140 - 2-10" Box
170 - Wiring Kit & Install (Sub only)
700 - Alp W205
50 - Parts for deck
125 - Install for deck

TOTAL: $1625

Your way:
1 10" Fi Audio Q Sub with BP Power - $300
Alpine M2000 Amp - $400
Alpine W205 HU - $700
LMI Seat Lift - $150
Custom Box - $300
Wiring/Installation for sub - $200
Wiring for deck - 50
Install for radio - 125

TOTAL: $2125

Matter of fact for the 500$ saved, Pick up a sundown 100.2 (239) and a set of Type-R components (230) and very quickly there is better sound and at or about the same price. And for 35-40$ over budget those can be installed too.

And if you could somehow install it yourself or get a friend to help you, you could use that saved money to do proper sound deadening, which is key to any SQ install.

ehh. Your truck but its much better to have something that will put out some thump with a bunch of SQ and you can have for a good few years. Then a knockin system with almost no SQ that you get sick of within a yr or 2.

Just been doin this for a long time. And I was your age just a few yrs ago. I still have the system I originally started with.

Prefab ported....theres your problem.

Put them in a sealed box with correct airspace and dimensions...it will sound 10x better.

had a custom sealed box made to spec and it sounded a **** load better but this ported one pounds alot harder, i prefer the poundage but it still maintains a little sq since its tuned so high, im happy with the box for 50 dollars
