Polk Audio SR12 sub ??

Hello, I’m looking for some info on installing the Polk SR124 sub into my 05 supercrew.

Has anyone been able to mount one under the rear seat of an 04-08 supercrew?

Polk lists the mounting depth as 7.6” inches. However it utilizes a pole vent, so I wonder how much extra depth would be required. I know JL specs an extra ¾” in addition to mounting depth on their W6 series subs which also use a pole vent.

I plan on installing a LMI seat lift and building a custom box. Polk specs 1.25 cu. Ft. as optimal for the SR12. I’ve seen some plans but I’m not sure exactly how much room I will have to play with under the seat once I have the lift.

Man i dont know if that will work. With the seat lift, the most people have been able to fit is around 7" of mounting depth because the driver needs room for excursion.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the help. I actually found a thread after I posted that also said I would be looking at 7" max.

Oh well, guess I got to do some more hunting. I have also looked at the Image Dynamics IDQ12v3, which I know would fit, and also supposedly has excellent SQ. But I wonder if it would give me enough. I usually listen at moderate volumes, but there are a few songs that I like to crank.

Awesome! I am a member of the local chapter here as well.

The IDQ line are great subwoofers, and the new v.3 driver should have some good output with 19mm of xmax...its moving a decent amount of air.
