the battery is charged with the alternator, starting at the main battery the pos cable goes through a 200amp fuse then it hooks to the 2nd battery which is grounded to the bed frame, the pos cable continues from the 2nd bat through a 150amp fuse and then to the amp itself, hope this helps C. Whammy
hey styxnpicks I never did get a second fuse in the pos cable before it hooks up to the 2nd bat but I havent had any problems so I am still thumping away, I dont have it cranked up that often though because it so loud

thank you. is the amp even connected to the main battery, or just the 2nd?
i know that at some point im going to need to upgrade my electrical, and am hoping that this will decrease the chances of having to get a new alt.

I HIGHLY recommend installing that second fuse. it could quite possibly save your truck from this:



I would invest the extra 20 bucks and 10 minutes for peace of mind

BTW heres my setup

2 Diesel Audio 12s
and an 800W PT amp
ill be getting a 2000W next month





EDIT- wow those pics are big....my bad :o
also since then ive cleaned up the wiring and fixed that spot on the box that the carpet didnt cover
