2001 Expy w/ blown sub amp. Need advice.

I'd like to just replace the factory amp with another one, but I'm having a hard time finding one. I found one on ebay and ordered it, but they shipped a different part # and refunded my money when I asked them if they had the correct part so now I'm back to square one.

Does anyone know of a good place to track one down or has anyone upraded their sub setup and want to get rid of their stock amp?

If I can't track down the factory amp, is there anything special I need to know about installing an eftermarket one? Ohms requirements, x-over frequency, etc.?

I'm happy with the stock sound and I'd like to fix this as cheaply as possible...

Besides ebay or a dealer(who would rape you cost wise) I really cant think of anywhere. There are a couple places on the internet that sell factory Ford parts, such as Tasca, but I dont know if they would have something like that or not.

if stock is good enough, you could probably find an 8 or 6 incher with an amp and everything you need for like 150 i would guess.
just get something that would fit where the stock one went

oh, didnt read that its just the amp

would it be possible to wire a cheapo aftermarket amp into the stock wiring?
i bet you could do that...you probably only need 100 watts or less

If you don't mind asking him... The part # is XF3F-18C808-AA. There will be a sticker on the side of the amp.

I ordered one of ebay, but the first 4 characters of the part # the actually shipped were different and the plug going to the speaker didn't fit. So, even though the seller advertised it as XF3F-18C808-AA, they didn't have that part and I got stuck with the return shipping just to get my money credited back. I'd prefer to deal with an actual person over ebay @ this point so if he's interested in selling it, I definately want it.

That's my next best alternative, I just didn't want to mess with pulling a power wire from the battery and I don't know the ohms rating on the speaker or what frequency I'd need to cross it over at.

If I can find out the x-over frequency and the ohms on the speaker, I'll just buy a cheap amp and wire it up since finding a direct replacement if proving to be harder than I hoped.
