Don't know about the L5's.

But downfired definatly... No one up-fires on our trucks. Up-fire has a chance of banging against the bottom of the seat, and the seat also absorbs the sound which weakens the sound.

when downfired the bass echoes off the floor, giving a louder sound.

They will fit under your seats with a lift.

i have two memphis m class tens under my seat, its a custom box, they sound pretty good. i had two JL w3s but i had to lift the seat to put that big box in there, i was sick of it, so i got the box under my seat. http://www.theinstallationshop.com/i...S&Category=750 this the website for some boxes my sister has in her truck, same f150 supercrew i have, 04. it fits under the seat and you can put on ten in upfire. hers sounds awesome. you just have to get someone who knows what they are doing to hook you up with a good sub and a good amp. that makes all the difference.

It depends on the amp you get/have.

You will end up with an amp that does the power you need at probably either 1 ohm, 2 ohm, or 4 ohm.
Find the amp you are going to use first, THEN get the subs with the correct coil configuration to work on that amp.

How much are you looking to spend on an amp?

price isn't really a concern i want it to last and have good quality.
if i can spend less and get a good amp well hey that would be great.
this will be happening within the next 2 months.
