Subwoofer turns on and off??

Recently my jl w3 subwoofer has been turning on and off. When I first start listening to music I notice the sub isn't hitting. To get the bass back I have to turn up the volume and then the sub will start hitting again. The sub has been doing this more and more frequently does anyone know what is causing the sub to do this? I have the amp hooked up to the stock headunit. Could the line input output converter be causing this?

Could be a number of things, including what you said. I would check your ground connection first. Do you have a multimeter? If so, you can use it to watch the voltage coming from the amplifier (AC) and voltage going into the amplifier (DC) to see where you're using power. You can also use it to check the RCAs coming from the LOC (AC) to see if that is where it's cutting out. It's possible the LOC itself is losing power due to a bad ground as well.

yes, check the ground. mine was doing that a while ago, i pulled the kick panels where i grounded them under, and it was rusted bad. sanded the rust off and it worked perfect.
