Stock Ford Subwoofer
Stock Ford Subwoofer
Is it possible to install the factory 8' ford subwoofer to an 06' FX4 with the stock radio. It isn't the one with mp3 capabilities, its just the cheapest one ford could find to put in a 30k truck. the only thing is I have a PAC-2 auxillary box installed to enable me to use my ipod through the radio. If this is possible is anyone looking to get rid of their stock woofer, or know where the cheapest place to find one is. Thanks in advance
there is actually a roush subwoofer that is made specifically for the f-150 comes with the sub in a box and everything i dont know if it is powered by a amp or not but i think it is......but i heard its WAY better than that stock subwoofer and i've seen them go on ebay for $100-$150....
I just posted mine for sale today. i can ship if you are interested.

There is a Rockford/Saleen sub ending on ebay in about 5 hours. I just installed one in my truck and it sounds great. It has a good bit more bass than the audiophile setup, i think. It comes with all you need, wiring, box ,sub and the amp is built in. It is a simple plug and play, no need for special harnesses or an audiophile head unit.

Since no one else bothered to answer your question the answer is maybe depending on if you have the audiophile stereo. Chances are you dont if you dont have the rear sub in your truck already but you can get a Ford stock audiophile system from EBAy or other places you can tell the difference by how many plug in are in the back of the stereo. An audiophile HU (Stereo) system has three plugs in the back of it, not including the antenna plug in.
But you also need to check and see if you have the wiring harness that run up under the carpet and padding under the rear seat (Driver Side). There should be a little slit in the carpet under the seat by the outside seat frame, you may have to open that up a little bit and check 4 to 6 inches all around under the padding to see if you can find it held in place to the floor pan by a plastic screw. If you find that and have the audiophile HU then your in luck. The extra plug that goes into the HU is plugged into a blank storage recepticle on the wiring harness behind the HU. If you have all that then yes you can hook up a sub. Hope that helps you out!!
