Hi all, I have a 04 screw with the factory sub and original HU, I have 2 12" subs and a good amp laying around, if I purchased a box for under back seat or built one can I install the amp and subs with factory HU?

Also where is the factory amp located and does it just run the sub ? is it possible to add my amp for subs and use the factory amp to run some new door speakers?

 

First off welcome to the site..

WHat kind of 12" are they? Chances are, they will not fit under the seat with out a seat lift, search for LMI..

Factory amp for the sub is on the sub box and yes it just runs the sub, and no it will not run some Mids/High speakers after you yank it out..

Thanks for the reply, Ya they are just regular 12's so the seat would have to be lifted.Can you hook a regular amp up to a stock HU on these or is it easier just to buy a aftermarket Headunit.

 

You can use a LOC, but the sound will be better with aftermarket..

 

+1 ^^^^^^^ LOC sound absolutely 100% like crap.. but thats okk... because you now purchase the great device called a Bass Restoration Signal Processor for aftermarket amp/sub to Factory HU.. to eliminate all the unwanted distortion and frequencies a LOC gives..and lots of other setting/options you can adjust to make it sound perfect in your vehicle... they run $100-$ 600, depending on wich one you get...
