stock sub replacement

So I have a $150.00 credit at a retailer and wonder if I should replace the stock 8" audiophile sub speaker with something more suitable. The audiophile sub sounds a little lacking since I replaced the stock audiophile components and rears with Infinitys. I amped the Infinitys as well with a 4x75. I still have the 08 Audiophile HU and stock thumper under the seat.

Anyone want to chime in? What might be a good replacement speaker that fits the stock audiophile box for $150.00 or less?
I know about the other boxes, just want to keep it simple and retain the stock look. I am not up to date on the latest and gretest so your opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

While the stock setup is not very powerful, the woofer, box, and amp are matched. I highly doubt replacing just the woofer would bring you discernable improvement, and stands a higher chance of sounding worse. Just my $.02.

yup just to get more sound you'll have to replace the stock sub....stock enclosure and the amp because if you get a new sub to get more bass it will require that much more power to achieve that bass and more airspace n so on.

Figured as much. Just wondering if it is worth the effort. I am going to stick with the stock setup. It is really a pretty good match with the speakers I just installed. Thank for the input fellas.

cheers!
