What is everyone using to seal up the doors good on these trucks? Im talking about the cutouts in the door skins. I finally got together some funds to dampen everything and wanted to seal the cutouts all together.
Opinions???

Please do. I just got my truck & haven't built a system in years, literally. I wanna put something nice in it & deaden it up as much as I can. Looking forward to tinkering with another system.
As Low said, that link is a pretty good one.
Once I get around to actually deadening and sealing crap up I will probably use pieces of 1/4 inch MDF or the like, wrapped in sound deadener, with a peice of weatherstripping around the whole in the door, then use self tapping screws to screw the 1/4 MDF to the door. Makes it easy to get inside the door if you need to. Weather stripping around the speaker hole also.
Im not a huge fan of glueing the panels into wholes or clay around the speaker just because its a pain in the *** if you want to take out the speaker, fix something in the door, etc.
Layers of sound deading too, till you cant get the door panel back on.

Yeah, I want to see all of the deadening you did and how you sealed up the cutouts in the doors. Where did you stuff all 200 sqft of that dynamat x. I only ordered 60 ft, that is all my budget permitted. I plan on useing a ton in/on the doors. As the budget increases, so will the deadening.

I put about 30 Sqft in my front doors. I didnt have 1/4 MDF at the time so I just put 2 layers over the entire door and cutouts. I also put a layer on my outside skin. If you hit the front door it just sounds like hitting lead. Dull Thud.
I did one layer on the back wall. One on the floor. 15 sqft in the back doors. And I still need to Great Stuff the back wall. I put a few bits on the roof when I did my overhead (Just where I could reach).
I would like to catch my bed, another layer on the floor, another on the back wall, full roof with 2 layers. 2-3 Layers on the firewall. Paint over everything... Then see where that takes me.
After reading that thread, I also want to clay my doors.
