system ideas for 02 screw

I want to replace the system in my 02screw. I have an Alpine-9856 H.U which will be reused. My speaker ideas were Boston SL80s in the front doors and Boston S85s in the rear doors.I was thinking for the sub would be an amplified MTX Thunderform. And a 4 channel amp for the Boston speakers. Does this sound like a good setup? Any help and/or recomendations would be apperciated!! And where could I mount the 4-channel amp? I was thinking either on the back cab wall or under the 40/60 split bench in front.

It sounds weird to alot of people at first, but try it. 90% of them LOVE it.. For sound imaging purposes, leave the rears alone for the moment. Buy a nice set of components for the front stage.. Power these with a 2-channel amp that matches the RMS rating of the component set @ 4-Ohms. Then wire your sub stage up. Tinker with the settings to get the best possible imaging. Then, if that just isn't for you, wire your rearfil back up. But don't power the rearfil with an amp. Just run it off the HU.

Like db said buy some nice components for up front and power them with a 2 channel amp and then run the rear speakers off the HU. For the sub I think there is a guy on here that had one of those boxes and he ended up replacing the sub with a rockford fosgate sub. It might be better to just buy the sub and then a box. I bought my box online for $77.00 and a rockford fosgate sub online for $94.00. That adds up to $171.00 with out the amp. What ever way you go I'm sure you will be happy with it compared to your stock system.

I agree 100% with this. Even if you do use rear fill, fade the speakers to almost inaudible. It will give the feeling of spaciousness some people like, but preserve most of your imaging and soundstage quality.

In fact, I would use the stock speakers for the rear and use the money saved to buy the best components I could afford. If you like Boston, they make some very nice components.
