Beginning to look for a new setup(need advice)..

ok now i have 2 RF Punch stage2 10's with a RF 600.1 amp... these suck IMO, they dont really hit hard at all.. my friend has 2 10 memphis subs and his hit alot harder and sound alot better, but i think im going to lift the seat and put a bigger box that can fit 12's under the seat.

Now heres what i need advice on:
-what subs do you recommend that pound(not that sound quality bs)
-should i use my current amp to power new subs to save money?

kicker 12" 2 ohm CVRs with a mono block kicker amp. you will amazed at the hard hitting bass, but they can also be quiet and discrete if need be. i have 10's in mine, and they are plenty loud.

Could it be that the box you have now just be to small and not letting the subs hit the way you want them to? look at the specs on your subs and then the size of your box. I think the smaller the box the tighter the bass and the bigger the box you get the more "bass" sound. I could be wrong but I think I saw that somewhere.

If I had to guess, I think he probably means "within reason". I doubt he wants it to sound like someone is just beating on a 55-gallon trash can, but I don't think he wants something that is going to cost an arm and a leg because it's made out of top-end materials/tuning either. But I could be wrong. If I had to venture a guess, he is probably like me: younger and hasn't grown to appreciate that super-fine quality and just wants to make as much [comprehendable] noise as possible at a reasonable price.

I'm in the same spot I have have a single 12" box under my seats and I don't wanna mess with seat risers. I need a good shallow 12" that actually sounds good.

Honestly, you have to take a step outside the commercials. Start looking at subs like Fi BTL, Digital Designs 9512g, RE MT, Stereo Integrity Mag, HDC3's and things of that nature. If you were to hear a DD 9512g wired to a ZX2500.1 after listening to a CVR, you'd really be shocked.

Best of luck.
