w7 over type r hands down...! they're not even comparable, you would need two type r's to compare to one w7. might i also recommend the 13.5 rather than the 12

Def the 12w7

I had 6 alpine type R 12's in a wall in my ranger and then I put 2 12W7's in my F-150 and those 2 w7's knocked as hard as the 6 r's in my ranger, I would hands down recommend the W7's,

This one's been kicked around over an over but from a pure SQ point of view the 12w6v2 sounds better than the 12w7 with a little less output and is certainly less expensive.

Type R = Poo loud fart cannon with a little SQ. From an SPL perspective you can get multiple cheap and power the crap out of them for good numbers.

One of Alpine's factory trucks sits right down the street from me it's got 8 12" type R's with 2000 watts
I let the Alpine guy listen to my last install in a Nissan Frontier it was a 12w7 on a Zapco 6.0 so around 1000 watts in a 2.5 cu ported box. From a SQ perspective I bet mine was within 5db of his system and it just killed his in SQ and I only had 5 speakers in the truck the Alpine truck has more than 20. You should have seen the look on his face, priceless. That's what you get when you spend hundreds of hours and $$$$$ 5 figures on an install.

Also look at the RE sx series. Sounds like a good sub I've heard great reviews. I'm looking into a couple sense Audiopulse doesn't seem to be operating anymore.

Where in the H are you going to put a W7 in an f150? The boxes I've seen for them are enormous even in SUVs

OHHHHHH come on now, you dont need a back seat, passengers seat, middle console, or drivers seat.....all your passengers can sit on the sub box

Negative. Max on the 04+ models with a lift is about 7ish inches. Less on the pre 04s.

Bryan did fit a pair of 10W7s under his Screws back seat...although they were forward firing instead of downfiring.

cool......box and subs would stick out quite a bit still cause the end of the sub is like 13" total height then theres like 1.5" for the box....so it would have to stick out quite a bit i assume....and then adding the grills on the subs is a must so no one accidentally bumps the subs with there foot

wonder how it looks.....got any pics or links?
