I started my sub box last night, Its gonna hold a 10" L7.
I got everything cut and put together, then put on fabric and did some resign, today i will hopefully start laying glass when i get back from physical therapy.

Its not the prettiest thing but its my first attempt at glassing.. I'm sure a few months down the road il be ripping it out and doing another one

Looks good!
Reminds me of my solar oven for my engineering class.... we started off with paper mache but ended up fiberglassing it and covering the glass with paper mache....
That thing would be sweet if you bondo'd it and painted it to match.

I was excited and forgot to take a pic.
heres basically what it looked like... i also used L brackets for support.. the sub is 23 lbs so i added the support to be on the safe side

Cool, you probably won't need the support if you layer it enough. I recall doing research on fiberglassing and some guy was showing how to build a box. In the end he showed the strength of the fiber glass by standing on it. Looks like a pretty cool project, can't wait to see it finished.

I have a 97 F150 ext cab. I built my own wooden box for my 2 10" Pioneer speakers, but it takes up most of the back seat. Does anyone know of a way to build a box for them so I can put them under the back seat, or at least get them out of the way?
Looks good, but next time dont glass where your spk will mount to. Always, cut the fleece underneath the top lip (works best if you router a notch all the way around... And dont have wrinkles in it pull TIGHT. Makes it a bish to sand and get smooth, odd amts of body filler are needed then...
Well....
I got almost one layer of glass on lol
i havent had any ambition to finish it, ive been so out of it with my shoulder injury. plus the fumes are bad.. i can smell them through out my house... maybe today ill do some more its a whopping 75 degrees out

im about the same steps you are, im just glassing my MDF box for a better seal tho.
Mine took about 24 hours between layers before i could sand it. Are you sanding between layers or just waiting until the end?
I think im gonna do black box in my dark grey interior. I just dont have money to get filler yet, and paint.

I have 2 full layers on it now just havent had any updated pictures. It already sounds so much better because it is actually air tight!
