10 inch subs, les than 5 inch mount depth, .45 cubic ft air space

Hey, Im looking for 2 10 inch subs that are 5 1/8 inches or LESS mounting depth and will work well with around .45 -.50 cubic feet of air space...

its for my 08 250 extended cab..there is so little space under the seat...

anyone know of any decent subs that fit those requirements? Ive searched for about a week now on and off to no avail....

Roger

I have one of these in my '03 Supercrew. It packs a punch for being so small and in such a small encloser, people confuse it for a 12'' all the time in my truck. I imagine two would pound pretty hard. Not to mention how amazingly clear mine is, and the quick punchy bass it produces. Don't get me wrong though, it can hold a long bass note.

It's the Pioneer TS-SW2541D 10" and only needs 3'' of mounting depth and .35-.70 cubic feet of airspace.

The JLs arent out yet, so cant say on that.

I'd take the EDs over the pioneer subs. ED is a non-mainstream brand that makes high quality products. Pioneer does make some great products, however their subs tend to be sub-par.

Also, the EDs are only 90 bucks each and come with a 2 year warranty.

Another option is the Kicker CVT. I have a pair in a Supercrewsound box and am very happy.

I just bought a shallow mount Power Acoustik stw-10 its in total with rubber surround 4 1/4 inches tall. Or it has a mounting depth of three inches! And it is one beutiful looking sub, Im almost ashamed to hide its beuty.......but then again it wouldnt work just throwing it under the seat without a box! .6 cubic foot box is required. THere is more then enough room under my seat for the box, sub, and amp! I have a Scab by the way.

Check out some of the subs for example JL Audio typically can be mounted so the magnet can actually touch the interior of the box because the sub is vented out the side, where as Kicker vents from the bottom and the side so there has to be room for it to breath (so to speak) about a 1/4 of an inch. May be helpfully in your decision when considering how much mounting depth you need. Good Luck. Let us know what you went with and how it sounds, the shallow mount subs are definitely taking off, feedback would be valuable.
