Really? According to everyone that I've spoken to, 1 10" is superior to 2 8's and, thus, I had decided to go with 1 10". If what you say is true then I may go with a single 12" because I know that it'll have a MUCH deeper sound than 2 8's.

Of course, I assume that this is all relative to the quality of the equipment that you go with.

its all in the displacement, my list is based on cone area alone, obviously its all realitive, thats why I went with 4 8's, I fit them under the seat they have more cone area than a 15 can take 1800w rms and have 14.1mm xmax

of course you can also take a 10 with 1500w rms and 22mm xmax and pwn 2 8's with only 175w rms ea and 12mm xmax.

I doubt those ED 8s are handling a steady 450 RMS each...

I've run dd1508's, Sounsplinter rli-8's, and RE Audio re8's. Unfortunately the rli-8's are out of stock as they were my favorite by far. Sounded great and got loud.

The dd1508's take alot of power and get downright loud, but sound like poo and require alot of space.

The re8's only need about 150w a piece and they sound pretty good for cheap. They dont' take much space either, 4 could fit where two of the others might...

I had one running with 450w for about 3 months

I've also had experience with 4 of the single Vc re8's which were fun in a ported box but lacked low end and couldn't take alot of power before bottoming out, I also played with 2 of em in transmission lines too, those were fun, I had them under my bed and could shake stuff of my shelves

so i wish i would have done a but more research on some sub specs... i ordered a box for duel 8's rather than the same box for dual 10's.... figuring that the 10's would need way more airspace... the box should be at my place tomorrow and now im tihnking should i be a handy man and cut the holes to fit 10s? or leave it... i have an extended cab 2004 f150... listen to all sorts of music, just want to have a louder sound with punch, but be able to have the bass going if i really want it loud. the box is a duel sealed with .635 cubic feet per chamber.. mounting depth is 5.5 inches any ideas? and i do plan on getting speakers and everything as well

http://musicmooseaudio.com/ford_f_150f.html link to the box

What an a-hole, ive never gotten a sound violation for any of my systems, and the cops in my area tend to be pretty picky too.

Sucks man.

I got a ticket for my system once, I think the wording on the ticket was "extremely excessive loud noise" I only had 2 15" type-R's sealed with 900 watts at the time and I only had it at a comfortable listening level. probably between 90 and 110 db and I had the windows up.... altho I think my budy in front of me was blaring his cheap 2 mtx 10s. sometimes I'm tempted to drive through that little hillbilly redneck village and make lotsa noise
