how to switch power to an external amp

how to switch power to an external amp

i have 2004 f150 with am fm cd player stock radio., would like to install a woofer in the back seat area , i have an amplifier which would like to feed to the woofer speaker., was wondering for the wire off the amp to turn onn and off the amp., can i use a wire from the back of radio , when radio turned onn it turns onn amp.??
and what color of speakers wires too ., if some one has schematics or can guide me in the right direction

well what iam i supposed to do i looked at few pages didnt see the title or something close .
instead of making a comment like your , you should have answered it , or kept on going and had some good person answer the question

Are you serious?? Theres a search button on the top. Whatever, Get your help from some "good person" then.

I seen you've replied twice , It would of only taken you another 30 seconds to answer his question . He said he couldn't find it in the search , and he's a newbie . I thought forums were to help people ? Ford150 use a test light to find a swithed + wire going to your radio , you can use that wire for your amp turn on . You also might want to get a line out converter , that switches your high level(speaker Wires) to low level(RCA) outputs to your amp . Hope this helps .
