Speakers cutting out

2006 F150 Lariat
Replaced stock HU with Kenwood 6019 Nav/Double DIN

Started with the right front speaker cutting in and out intermitantly. Replaced all butt splices with solder. Everything worked well until recently, now right front and rear and left rear occasionally cut out. I havent had a chance to pull the HU out again to check connections, but thought I'd get your opinions. Does this sound like a bad connection or bad ground? Or does it sound like speakers going out or HU failing? Thanks for your advise.

I would say bad connections, the butt connectors are probably loose

Since the butts are already out. Are you using heatshrink or Electrical tape? Check those connections sounds like they may be grounding either into each other or to metal.

how odd, i have a 6019 too, and mine started doing that about a month ago.
my two fronts cut in and out and sound staticy when the volume is below 15
after 15-16 they play fine.
I took the stocks out and have a pair of kenwood 5X7s up front.
wiring is all like stock, used interconnect adapter from the hu to the factory harness...
the adapter wires were cut, and the hu wires were all shortened and re-pinned to the adapter.
OEM Speaker connections were soldered on the new speakers so the factory plug plugs right in.

i think my speakers are just bad, im going to swap in the factory ones to check it out.
opinions?

Not necessarily. Go back through and recheck everything. It may require undoing every tape job and retaping individually again. Things are odd sometimes.

If that doesnt work try rewiring the harness again.

If that doesnt work try checking the speakers.

If that doesnt work run all new spk wire.

If that doesnt work buy a Pioneer, Eclipse or Alpine and get rid of that Kenwood.

p.s. dont buy another.
