I know what I want!

well I now know what I want. it's going to be a forward firing box with a seat lift to push 2 10w6s w/ a 1000/1 amp.

2 questions:
  • what does it mean by dual 4 ohm
  • will the 1000/1 be too much power for the w6s (they push 400w each)

thanks ryan

I dont think you will be too happy with the foward firing. Stuff can damage them real easy. And even with the seat lift there wont be enough room to lay them sideways i dont think, or really have them downfiring. The best way to do 10w6's is to build a flow through center consol. I wanted to do that originally, but now I am going with 2 10w1v2's with a 500.1 JL amp. The 1000.1 will do fine with those speakers, as long as you have all the settings right.

dual 4 ohm means that those speakers each have 2 4ohm voice coils.
The 1000/1 will not be too much power for the w6's.

Good luck.

Look up Brypink2's gallery. There are pics of 2 10w7s in front firing. It is possible...

You will have to wire those subs either parallel then series to the amp, or series the VC's and paralell them to the amp.

This will give you a 4 ohm load. You will NOT be able to just hook all the negatives and all the positives together (parallel/parallel) or you will end up with a 1 ohm load, and if Im not mistake that amp is only stable down to 1.5 ohm???

The Jumper wires you see there let you do the series wiring much cleaner. Hook VC1- to VC2+.
