Talking Infinity KAPPA PERFECT 6.1 ? RAINBOW ?

Dear All,

I've to thank you all for the previous posts, I've been learning alot about the speakers here.

Some people recommend Infinity, some don't. Anyone had the Kappa Perfect 6.1 ($200) ?

I am also interested in getting to know more about the Rainbow Audio speakers, but looks like they are not that popular, almost none on e-bay for sale and google doesn't return much about rainbow.

I've heard about a component 3 pieces from rainbow, sounds the best ? or should I go with 5x7 or 6x8 to the best from the space ?

Where can I get the rainbow ? (don't tell me to watch the weather channel).

I have a pair of JBL P953 in the little back doors. I've done cutting and fitting them their this last weekend. I bought them about 2 years ago and used on my old chrysler sebring. I still have another pair but I'm afraid that they won't fit in the front doors even with lots of cutting and I am thinking about trying something new.

Smile Rainbow ? $1000 ? $700 ?

It looks like the Rainbow are a bit to pricey.

Do you guys suggest the infinity or anything else on the $200 less per pair range ?

I can't spend even $350 on a pair of 6.5's and not spend another $500 in a new head unit and another $350 on the back door speakers and another $400 in a sub/box.

I want a good and balanced overall, not just 2 great speakers on my door and that's it.

My headunit is a KDC-X591 got it for $128. Trying to keep the balance :P

I would go with the Infinity's or Boston Acoustics. BA makes really really good speakers.

im a fan of alpine myself. If you get some type-rs with an amp they will sound really good. Dont waste your money on speakers that are 200+ a pair if your not going to run an amp to them. If your not going to run an amp get some alpine type S. They are $100 or so a pair and sound great with just a head unit powering them.

you dont have to spend 1000 or 700 to get a set of rainbow comps, pm 6spdcoupe, he's a member here and on caraudio.com and he's also a rainbow dealer, and rainbows are VERY popular, reason you don't see them on egay is because everone keep them, you can get the SLC230 or SLC265 components set for around 250

I run Kappas for all my mids 6x8 front components and 6x8 coax in the rear as fillers.

They sound crisp, were cheap and do the job. I have them powered by a 6Ch JL Amp. The weird thing about my kappas are..2ohm. Weird for a mid, but it works.

Im not complaining...next set for me will be Diamond Audio though...I still love how those sound.

Okay

You guys won I will save some extra and get the rainbows.
I will try to fit a SLC 365 KICK in the front doors.
Anyone had experience putting a Tri Axial component set like the SLC 365 on the front door ?

On rainbow website it says that the SLC365 needs a crossover on high passs 80hz, the product picture also shows a crossover, does it comes with it ?

I will take the pictures after the installation.

Also, I've got the P953 working fine in the back. I will take pictures and post later.

Have a great day, Thank you for the replies.

The crossover pictured is for the highpass on the midbass, bandpass on the mid, and high pass on the tweeter.

The 80hz High Pass is what the midbass needs to be highpassed at, which you will need to set on either your amplifier or your headunit.
