Question power wire???????

first let me start off by sayin i am new to the forum.
i have a 04' f150 ext. cab stx 4x4
my question is how or where do i run my power wire through the firewall? i know there has to be an easy way but when i look at the wall all i see in the noise deadening foam and crap. my battery is on the passenger side and its seems like i read somewhere on another forum about a gromet on the dirvers side but they also said the battery was on that side? thanks in advance all!

behind battery!

There is a grommet directly in-line with the inside edge of the battery on the firewall on the passenger side. It's about 7" down and sort of lines up with middle height of the battery. I used this grommet to run my power wire to a new yellow top Optima. I had previously used it for routing my cowel-mounted XM antenna wire. If you search this forum you'll find numerous posts with a lot of photos that show the grommet location and routing of 1/0 power wire. Just make a slit in the grommet and insert the wire. As you face the cowel from the front of the truck, the wire should angle off to the left and comes out above/behind the heater box on the passenger side.

i routed my power wire behind the battery and it was a pain in the ***. i had to remove the battery and the piece of plastic that the battery mounts too for me to be able to get my hands in there to work. their is 2 grommets there actually one is a small ovalish one dont bother with it. just get in there with a trouble light or something and you will see the round grommet you need to use.

the ****ty thing about routing it to come through the drivers side is you loose about 5 or 6 feet of wire monkeying around plus it doesnt look nearly as good. so take the time and just use the passenger side grommet.

i ran my 1/0 ga across to the drivers side and there is a grommet about 14inches down...if you go inside the drivers side and look above the pedals (you may have to remove a removable piece of carpet underlayment...you will locate the unused grommet...i just slit it and pushed the wire through....

Save the 5 feet of power wire. Run it through the passenger side grommet...

I went underneath the truck and if you run the wire all the way back. There is a grommet that runs just in front of the rear of the truck. Secure with zipties and loom. Easiest run I have ever done.
