It all really depends on his budget for the most part. Do you know what he is wanting to spend on components and an amp?

200-300 for amp

he's not looking to go crazy but i know there are a few people on here that know what they're talking about when it comes to speakers

For 150 bucks I think about the only thing youll be able to get are a set of SLC Coaxials. Their lowest line components, the Dreamlines, are around the 200 dollar mark if I remember right. SLC components are around 250ish then.

He could buy mine (JL XR), Ill make him a good deal.... But anyways look at the Alpine-R's for that budget, Polk Db Components, etc...

SLC's arent bad... But not a huge Rainbow guy... Great spks though

150.00 and looking for Bows, not going to cut it on anything above SL's

I've got a Eclipse EA4000 amp laying here in org box, will do 75w X 4 or 150W X 2 Bridged all at 4 ohms, he can have for 135.00 Shipped lower 48 and then add the money saved on the amp to the speakers

He can get a set of SLC's with 300.00...

where was that? the only place i've been able to find pricing info was speedsound.com.

how would the SLC 6.5's compare with say, Alpine Type R's? kind of annoying that more people don't carrry rainbow to audition.
