Reg cab sub box help

I have a single alpine Type R 10 in my truck and i need a proper sub box. I currently have it in an old sub box but i really need something to work with my sub, not against it. Does anyone have any sub box plans for a reg cab. The mtx thunderform boxes or whatever they are called wont work because of the mounting depth and i really dont want anything made by mtx. According to alpine i need between .6 and 1.25 cubic feet for a ported box. I do not want to move the seat forward more than a click or 2. I do not necessarily want two subs if i can make the single 10 sound good. btw im running it at 2 ohm's at 400+ watts.
So to sum it all up,

Does anyone have a good box design for a single 10 with a 6.8" mounting depth?

Where should i put the port on the box? on the side; front?

Any other suggestions to improve the sound quality and volume of the sub.
