Thoughts on this set up.

I currently have an ID10v3 in a supercrew sound box powered by a p325.1 fosgate amp. It sounds ok but I want more. I was thinking about running the 10 off of my pass thru on my front channel amp and then running a 12 off of a 1000 watt mono amp as a sub. This would be mounted in the space for the back seat on the passenger side with the seat folded up. This way I could take it out if needed. I don't want to lift the seat if I can help it. I am looking at the SSA Icon and a sundown 1000 wat amp.
Here's a link to the sub http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/p...on/icon12.html

and the amp http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/s...d&productId=55

and the deal they are running

Whatcha think.

BTW how much can the seat be lifted just using washers and how do they fit on the angled leg.

Running two subs that are different in any way is usually not a good thing...especially two different sizes.

If you want more, either ditch the 10 for the 12" SSA, add another 10 exactley like you have with a bigger amp, or start all over with a new substage.

Or if you have room and know what your doing when it comes to box building you could try a ported box also...

My local shop is recomending the JL stealth box which is ported but I believe I'm still going to want more than 250 watts. I have also thought about cutting the carpet out of the backseat under the sub to give me more room. Does anybody else make a sub that can handle 800-1000 watts rms that might be a little smaller than the icon. 6" mounting depth w/ 20.5 mm of excursion kinda makes me think it might hit the floor in my current box.

The JL stealthbox does its job... It will surprise you. Due to the way the port acts on the sub its more like 375W (250 x 1.5 = 375. Ported enclosures if tuned right will increase efficiency by approx 50-65%). And 250w on one sub in one type of enclosure is completely different than 250w in another enclosure... Watts are only good for comparing amps...(and even then its not great)

Ported enclosures are easy if you know how to do the measurements (tuning to car or hole, port length, width....)
