8s, 10s or 12s???????

I have an 07 Ford Supercrew and am trying to get optimal sound from a custom box under rear seats...interested in 2 or 3 8" subs or 2 10" subs (all shallow mounts of course)...is the trade off from 10" to 8" that significant? My last car (98 malibu) had the Polk audio DB12s and it was well worth it, coming off 12s to 10s or 8s is hard enough. I want LOW Hz as I enjoyed before, whats my best bet?

I have been reading various posts and trying to get through them all to answr this question has been.... ....so someone please give me some feedback

Well the best thing you can do is get a 2.5in Lmi seat lift and put 2 12s.. thats what i would do. But my 2 tens hit hard most ppl think there 12s

if your doing shallow mounts the 10"s are gonna sound like 8"s. I wouldnt even bother with 8's they won't be much better than a 6x9. Maybe build a box that will hold a top end single 10 or 12. You will probably be happier than two shallow subs that aren't going to give you any deep bass at all.

Question

i wanna go with one 12 under the 40/60 side of the split bench....is it absolutely necessary to lift the bench???? Also, which 12 would you suggest that I will get the most out of with such limited space? I like the kicker solabaric, but am not sure it would fit

Ok, I have been researching those Pioneer Premiers 12" shallow mount subs (ts-sw1241d), 350 RMS, will one of those runnng off a 1000w fosgate amp be sufficient? I likePolk audio, but tyhey dont make shallow 12s; I love Pioneer HU's but an sketchy on the quality of their subs, what would you suggest...trust the name or go another route for subs?

get two image dynamics IDQ 10s. they are built for small enclosures, fit under the seat without a lift, and they hit extremely low frequencies in small boxes. seems right up your alley, give it a shot.

These are the subs and you won't be displeased. I really like them a lot. You can ask me any feedback you want i just got them put in on sunday after having them sitting around for a few months but was waiting on headunit.

Hits pretty hard and i like them a lot since they are the first sbus i have ever owned!!

Your using ****ty ,poorly mounted eights then, I've been out of the car audio scene a few years but it use to be my life lol I've seen 2- 8's push over 145+ dbs and hitting LOWWWW ....
If I was going to put a system in my truck trying to use min. space 2-8's would be my choice. It's all about the tuning of the box and ports!

install install install.... and good product.

it can be done but it takes a lot more than your average install. I myself have played with 8s in a lot of box designs. the weakest setup was sealed replacing 6x9s in a car with about 75-100watts each. better that the 6x9s but I was using them for midbass. I also ran one 8 ported with 450 watts tuned high and it wasn't to bad but needed a little more, I've also played with transmission lines and horn loaded setups, fun stuff

Massive Audio is expensive **** but well worth it. the set up was in a supra .. was nothign fancy just a perfectly tuned box and decent power .. I think he was even running a six channell amp could be wrong I seem to remember he wasn't runny insane power ... probally could have got 3+ dbs outwith more power .. I went up against him with my 2 15's and beat me ( excuse time I had just bough new subs and the box wasn't tuned right for them lol)
