audiophile replacement sub
audiophile replacement sub
Not wanting to get too crazy. Just want a little more bass. The factory stuff is almost good enough for me. The only problem I have right now is the sub on my 06' seems to cut out when I turn it up. Might be a safety feature so Ford doesn't have to replace a bunch of subs. What I need is someone that can recommend a decent sub that is a direct replacement for the audiophile sub. I don't want to change the factory box or add an amp. I am also OK with the sound quality of it all, like I said just a little more bass. I listen to everything; rap, rock and even country. What do you guys think. Oh yeah to make it a litle harder, the sub has to work with the factory amp. I'm sure it doesn't put out that much power. Thanks!
Seems like a few people have asked this question and everyone has gotten the "go all aftermarket" answer.
I too am curious about changing the driver out in the stock box. If I ever get around to doing more hands on research I will post my findings. Does anyone know if the box in the Super Duty is for sure the same or different than the boxes in the 150s? Mine (in an 08 SD crew cab) is behind the back seat, Not under it.

even if you do replace the sub it'll still cut out like it is now, the factoy amp sounds like it has a protection circuit built in, I had a small home audio 100w 8" infinity sub that did this, crank it up too far and it cuts power, only way your going to fix this is by going with an aftermarket amp. you might be able to re-use the factory enclosure tho
