mtx thunderforms... any good?

Hey

I'm relatively new to the forums and have been hit by the customizin' bug lately (well, ever since I started gettin a paycheck to pay for some toys).

I'm on a limited budget since my salary is small and I'm tryin to save up for a supercharger, but I figure I can spend half a grand upgrading my sound system. I've got a 01 regular cab F 150, and I've already got a 8 inch powered Bazooka tube in it. Its kinda set up ghetto and doesn't kick too hard, so I'm lookin for a tidy enclosure that won't kill my cab space and won't kill my wallet. I saw MTX has a custom enclosure for my truck that comes with 2 10s and a 200 watt amp. anyone have experience with these, should i look into a different product?
let me know what yall think

i have had the thunderform box, but it didnt come loaded with an amp. they sounded good, and very good as far as being hidden. but if i were you i would probably go with a bigger amp.

Not saying if they are good or bad, but for that budget on just a sub/amp/box, you can find many nice setups. Check around the threads and look at some of the setups that the regular cab guys have done.

Good luck,

MTX use to make very-good subs but not at very low crossover points. I could just never get them to reproduce the very low octaves of the spectrum without clipping regardless of the enclosure type, quality or amples of RMS. At about 120HZ to about 180HZ, they had nice "oompf" but struggled and dropped of dramatically at the 20-60HZ range.

Not sure what they're like now a' days.
