i put a new jvc kw-avx800 head unit with the blue tooth and a 15 dis cd changer in, and a rockford B 1d 500 amp powering a alpine type R 10"sub and a candance txa 3004 to power my 4infinty kappa's.. i have it all in except the front speakers..oh this is in my 2006 FX4 super crew with the premium sound system and all the options.. i just haven't figured out the best way to run a new speaker wire in to the front door, the back was easy.. the front has that huge plug from the door to the fender that you can't run a wire through, any one do this and find a good way ? or should i see if the speaker wire is the same color on the inside of the plug ( in the truck) and just cut it and hook there ? i hate to cut the stock wires tho.. but i hate to drill a hole to... any ideas ???? thanks
the easiest thing to do so unplug the plug, and find a part of the plug where no wires are going though and just drill a hole. on some cars i have been able to pull the plugs out from the car, plug them back together and then drill (as long as there is enough slack on the wires from inside the truck.) im not looking forward to doing this in my truck lol. i need to run 12 gauge twisted speaker wire, as well as 8gauge power wire into the drivers door for my window modules. if i do it before you do ill take some pictures!

if i can get the plug out from the fender so i can turn it to drill it.. today is my day off so i plain on triyng to get it done today.. i wll let you know how it goes.

he means instead of running your new wire from your amp to your speakers you do this instead. unhook your speaker wires from your headunit and run your wires from your amp to behind your headunit and hook them up there. your still using your factory speaker wires that way, you only run wires from your amp to your headunit.

I am trying to not have to drill holes in the molex door plugs to run new speaker wires to door speakers from a JL300.4

Of course the spk side ? [/I]Do you mean tap/splice the amp speaker wire into the harness speaker wire between the harness and the speaker behind the HU, not between the HU and the harness ? I tap/spliced the amp speaker wires into the factory speaker wires between the wiring harness and the HU and it sounded like crap and front right speaker stopped working. Disconnected all and all 4 door speakers are running off of HU and working again.
keep the HU wires away from the wire harness ? Don't understand which wires to keep away from the wire harness. ( the HU speaker wires ??)

No, you are fine. I am doing that now.
Unless your new speakers are high watt power hungry speakers, then they will need to be amped to sound good and then you will have to run speaker wires from your amp to the speakers or to the speaker wires behind the HU to use the stock speaker wiring.

so when you buy your harness that plugs into the factory harness so you can connect your aftermarket h/u it has all your speaker wires that you would normally connect to your head unit. in this case you do not connect them to your head unit, you connect them to your speaker wires that are running from your amp. you run all four of them to behind the h/u then connect them to the harness there.

IN MORE DETAIL.
Normally you have a wiring harness from the deck and one for the factory plugs. When wiring in a hi's amp (2ch/4ch) connect your 12+, 12+/0, and GND. Then take the speaker wires from the HU and cut them off (leave some room just in case).
Next take all your RCAs, 15-20ft of spk wire per spk getting hooked up and Remote wire put all of the ends in a vice. Grab some electrical tape. Then stretch the wires out and tape the bundle up every 1-2 ft.
Wire this bundle up to the stock wire side of the wiring harness. Remote and RCAs to the Aftermarket deck. Then run your bundle down the opposite side of the car to your amplifiers.
If you didnt mark your wires grab a 9v battery and "pop" your speaker wires then wire to the correct spot. If you then didnt mark your RCAs turn off sub and fade to the front. Plug each set in until you hear noise then put in front RCA spot. Do the same with the rear. And If you ran a sub RCA then plug it in.
Now I have given away trade secrets.... Loss of business... O well.
