running new speaker wires
I like the idea of wiring everything back at the harness to the HU, but what if you go with separates and your truck only came stock with a 6x8 in the door?
I haven't pulled the speaker yet, so may be a stupid question if the factory provides harness in the door for the tweeter even though I don't have one.

Never seen the speaker harness adapters, but in order to not have to cut my harness at the door, do the adapters have the plug on one end and bare wires on the other that I can crimp spades?
Thanks.

Now I do recommend that you really secure all components in your xovers with a bead of CA glue (superglue) because the door is extremely hard on xovers.
DO NOT MOUNT XOVERS IN THE DOORS. (if at all possible). If you do not understand why search for the thread dealing with it.

Low, can you answer that? I'm guessing he means, is there any loss in going this route instead of full rewire?
That is my question

Call me lazy, but I have done both, a full re-wire and this way and I will never go back. I could see if you are running a lot of power to each speaker or if you wanted to go active or bi-amp but not for 75w rms.
Hope that helps,

awesome, the more the simple the better. I consider myself pretty crafty and a quick learner but this is gonna be a big install.
Should I expect to see any loss of power (lights dimming, etc) with what i'm doing (Alping 70W x 4 amp, nav head unit, new speakers all around)?

I think i'm just over thinking everything before i even get it all laid out. but
