Sub Not Getting That Deep Bass that i want.

I got my subs around may... I bought the box from supercrewsound and had an audio shop install my RF Punch Stage 2 10's (2 ohm, Jmt refered them to me) and the amp which is a RF 600.1... so they basically did everything. I tried messing with some of the settings on my radio but i dont know what im doing... The sound i have now is alright but there is a rattle coming from the box.. and when the bass hits it makes a rattle too.

I heard my friends system in his Expy, he has 2 12's, and i was standing outside his car with his windows down and i could feel the bass in my chest, which i dont get when standing by my truck.

Any idea on what i can do to get a deeper cleaner bass?

Not sure what your experience with subs are so this my be already stuff known.

The 12's are going to hit harder and lower normally. 12 are able to produce low pitches that a 10 can't. Also there will be more cone area moving air so that's going to make it louder.

Have you tried setting treb and bass to zero on the HU and then setting the gain on your sub amp? Can your subs handle an amp with more wattage? With that box, are the subs hitting the floor when they really get moving? Have you considered pulling the box out and running a bead of silicone arround any places that might be leaking too much air? Maybe try polyfil to see if you like it (some like it some don't).

Just some ideas to throw out there. g'luck

what you also need to understand is that you have two tens in a small, sealed box. an expedition has a huge trunk, and with that you can build a much bigger box. box size makes a HUGE difference. especially when comparing 10s to 12s. if you took your same 10s and put them in a large ported box, you would feel it in your chest too and it would be a lot louder, but you cant fit that in your truck.

To jolly, i dont even know how to get to the amp(its behind the back seat i think) but heres my subs/amp

I told the dudes to wire it so that it presented the subs to the amp as one 2 ohm load, but they may have forgotten..is there anyway i can tell?

Then yes, to mess with the amps the seat back would have to be removed again.

There will be some small dials on the side. bass boost, gain, and crossover. It's possible that you could get more sound by turning the boost and gain up. But that might make them give you a less clean sound. The paperwork that came with the amp should tell you how to work them.

But, like mSaLL150 said. With little boxes you can only expect so much. trying to get a silk purse from a sow's ear so to speak.

Some people think that filling 3/4 of the box with polyfil (pillow stuffing) helps with the small boxes. Others disagree. Might be worth a shot since it's cheap.

thats half of the equation. the other half is the box. if you have a 10 inch sub that is capable of hitting 20Hz (lowest frequency human hearing can pick up) and you throw it in a .4 cu ft. box, it probably wont drop below 25 Hz. put it in a 2 cu ft. sealed box, and it will easily hit that 20Hz crisply. box plays a big role in what frequency band it hits *and* just how loud and clean it will hit those frequencies.
