Weird problem w/new head unit.

So I finally got the replacement head unit from my insurance co. It is a Kenwood KDC-X891. I wired it all up and turned the key. Nothing happens in the HU. I think this is odd, so I do some probing with the test light. The weird thing is, my ignition (red) wire is constantly hot, as opposed to only being hot when I turn the key. I wonder if this has something to do with the alarm system I just put in w/remote start and bypass module. I double checked the wiring and everything seems good.

Any ideas? It seems like the HU should do something, since it is getting power from the ignition wire.

Thanks

Looks like there is a fuse on the back-side of the HU, is it good? It may have wiggled out or could be bad. Check that...

Big maybe on the remote starter having to do with your problem, they MIGHTA tapped into your acc with a constant...but most likely not
also, do you have an amp hooked up to it? or do you have the delayed door acc. where the acc only turns off when you open the door? check it out

Are you splicing into stock wiring, or did you use a harness to plug into the stock radio wires??

Thanks for the replies. It turned out to be a bad 20 amp mini-fuse in the kick panel. I think the thieves that took my old head unit might have crossed some wires in the process and caused it to blow.
