Sub on Seat

Hey guys,

I am probably getting my f150 tomorrow and I really want to know where I will mount my 15" subwoofer until I make a box for my 2 alpine type r's 12". I was thinking of either putting the 15 on top of the middle seat or if it will fit on the floor in the middle, inbetween the center console and the rear middle seat. Box Dimensions: 19-1/2"W x 16-1/2"H x 13-1/2"D

Heres a pic of the sub.

it wont fit between the console and rear seat. however you could take out your passenger side rear seat and it would probably fit there.

Yeah, I would take out a seat or fold it up and just throw it on the floor for now.

I was thinking you said your Type Rs were the older model....Those look like the newer ones though. If they are the newer ones, I dont think they are going to fit under the seat (mounting depth on them is around 8 inches IIRC)

hell just get a toneau cover and hook all 3 of them up in your bed. two ported 12s and a sealed 15, that system would BANG.

We are going to go look at the truck tomorrow and probably purchase it, I am almost positive it has a toneau cover. I am not 100% sure yet though. The last time I saw it was like a year ago. Its my dads lawyers truck. It is actually my dream truck and I had no idea I would be getting it for my first car. So I am super excited. If It has the cover, can it get wet back there? If it doesnt, Im just gonna put my 2 15s back there haha. Itll be sick I know that for sure!

Yes.

Unless you just want to be heard from 3 blocks away all the time and nothing else, dont just throw them in the back...

no bratak1 is absolutely right, it will sound terrible in the bed. i was just kidding when i said that, hence the i woudlnt actually look into doing that.

you may want to think about selling a couple of your subs and buying some high quality 10s for under the seat (maybe slim 12s if you want to raise your seat). i doubt those type r's will fit, even with a lift.
