Some people say you need to take it easy or whatever for the first few hours so the sub will...wait...whats that going to do?? Nothing.

Just go out and **** on the things. No need for 'take it easy for awhile while it breaks in' bs.

After a few hours of play time the sub WILL start to sound a little different, but no special care is needed, I dont care if F'n JL even says so.

most "good" subs are broken-in/tested at the factory for defects and other problems. i have had many different subs with many different system setups and i never really broke my subs in. all of them worked fine until they wore out.

It can take several hours for a sub to break in, all that really means is that the suspension parts are exercised to "loosen up". Specifically, the spider and surround.

The epoxy on the voicecoil will also finish curing as it heats while playing.
