what to look for in a CD player
what to look for in a CD player
im looking at getting a cd player that has the screen come out and fold up.... but i dont know what kind to get. i have to have sumthing that will allow me to hook up my PS2 and Xbox 360 both. and have them run to 4 other tvs(headrests, sunvisors). and i want it to play thru my system. (Guitar hero for PS2) haha. Anyway i dont know what specs i need? 2AV in, 1 AV out? not sure what all that means so if sum1 could give me sum clues on what to look for in a headunit, that would be good! thanks fellas!
noooo i wouldnt go with pyle. save up for something nice, its defentaly worth it. i prefer alpine myself, but i also like the pioneers.
as for the audio in/out. it has an aux in for like, a ps2 or ipod, you would need 2 a/v inputs if you want to do xbox and ps2 at the same tiem. then the audio outs are your pre outs for amps. you should have 3 pre outs (front, rear, sub.)

you would need a video amplifier, but one made for cars. its like a little box with a single input, and like 4 or so outputs. you gotta give it 12v too. it just helps the signal stay together as its split up. get a good quality one, i know monster cable makes them. not sure who else.

you could use a splitter, but each time you split up the signal it gets weaker and weaker. thats why you should get a video amp, so each tv has a nice, perfect picture. www.onlinecarstereo.com has some good stuff, but ive never ordered from there. i dont trust ebay when it comes to car audio, i can only imigine the percent of stuff that is stolen lol.
some other good things in a headunit is a good eq. the more bands you can control the better. good voltage rca preouts are important. you dont want something too low, 2v or 4v is pretty good; some eclipses are 8v! things like crossovers and time alignement are also very helpful when your trying to fine tune a system, but they are only avalible in higher end headunits (not indsh moniters.)
i will be adding the apline pxa-h701 sound processor to my set up when i have the funds too. that will give me much better control over the sound, and image.

yeah nice price, not so good unit. stay away from the pyles, jenson, phase linear, dual, and um i cant think of any other brands that suck lol. i dont really like jvc or sony either. when it comes to car audio you truly get what you pay for.

this one seems pretty decent. 2 rca inputs huh? would this work for what im trying to do? would the pyle TVs be ok if they are just for the sunvisors? they have sum 9" ones that look pretty good. But this cd player looks pretty decent. looks pretty decent to my bank account to! haha

yeah the screens are pretty good nice and cheap, so you can rip em apart and mold them in places
, but as for using it as a sound processor i wouldnt recomend it. youve gotta remember your car audio is only as good as its weakest link. you can put the biggest baddest amps and speakers, but if the signal going to them suckes because the processor isnt good, there is no point.

im sure you could get the pioneer http://www.nextag.com/pioneer-4900/search-htmlonline for under 600. my suggestion is to just stick with some good brands.
hey bro... what do you think about this one? would it be capable of doing what im trying to do? what is the difference between AV input and RCA input? would this one be what i need?
