Is this sub any good

Want a new sub to replace my factory sub on a 2006 SCrew KR. Saw this and wondered if anyone has any experience with it - http://www.supercrewsound.com/shop/detail/11/407.htm

It is an 12" MTX sub in a customized enclosure for my truck. It even has an optional amp.

Thanks!

What do you call good??

I know there are a few on here that have the Thunderforms. Some love them, some have mixed opinions about them. If you looking for an all in one, no hassle type setup its a nice thing to have.

Ill throw in my opinion though...you couldn't pay me to run MTX.

So what would you recommend???

I simply want to replace the factory sub and amplifier. I was looking for an easy way to do it. I went to HiFi Buys today and they had a custom enclosure for an F150 with a JL sub for $695. That didn't even include the amp. I thought that was a little much so started looking on this forum and eBay. However, I don't know what is good and what isn't.

Well you went to the right place. Just didn't look far enough. I got there single 10 with the id10d4v.4 sub and it sounds pretty good. I might be selling it soon to upgrade to 2 10's.
As far as mtx I used to run two 15" terminators from them in collage and they never failed runnig 800W rms a piece to them in a dodge daytona.

if your gunna go with mtx, get some of their higher end subs, and make sure if you buy a loaded enclosure, you beef up the speaker wire. in their boxes they put like a 20 gauge wire, ive had so many customers come back with burnt up subs because of this, they get so hot you cant even touch them. mtx suck up alota power, so give them the wire they need lol.

Well you could pay me to run mtx but... i wouldn't for free. You could buy a much much better sub and build a box for cheaper than those thunderform things.

As for what subs to buy, it all depends on the money you want to spend and what kind of music you listen to. I have an alpine type-R 10", i think they are like $150 at crutchfield and i am really pleased with it. Now if i could just get a new amp life would be sweet.

the 9500s is probably the only descent sub they make. if you do mtx, buy an extended warrenty lol. so when they burn up, you can get some new ones.
