Hey, Dconder!

I wanted to say thanks for answering my post on the amp setup choice. I looked at your gallery and you have my truck's twin! ( Well, the better looking, better performing , well you get the picture twin. ) You did a very professional job on your installs. Anyway I just got mine at the end of March and I'm working on my mods. I'm doing audio first, then I'm going to put on Bilstein leveling shocks and BFG 305's.

I have a JL Audio 300/4 amp and I just purchased an Image Dynamics IDQ10 and a Q-Logics sub enclosure ( thought I was going to get a stealthbox, but the deal fell through). And I'm in touch with Don about purchasing a set of Rainbow KX 5x7's and Rainbow 6.5" Germaniums. I was wondering how you liked the Germs and how much power you are sending to them. I have no way to listen to a set before I buy. Thanks

Thanks for all the compliments. I really appreciate it. I really had the truck sounding good and then traded it away.

I ran my Germs off an Arc Audio 2500XXK at their best. Around 250 watts per side. They took it and sounded awesome. The best speakers I have personally owned. Those and the Image Chameleon's are my favorite. Right before I traded my truck, I ran the Germs with only 75 watts and they still sounded good but, just capable of so much more. The more clean quality power you can throw at them, the better they sound. I am not sure what the limit would be but, they can take power for sure.

With the 300/4, I would consider running the amp bridged for 150 per side or running the Germs active and running 75 per driver.

There's a limit lol. I popped the little fuses at 450w RMS when I accidently shot a 1000hz test tone at them full power. I replaced the fuses risking it all and they play fine at 450w of music. They do start to distort on some songs at max volume. My system is tweaked pretty tight using a o-scope and several test tone disc so I have clean power all the way. I don't always run full power but if your in the habbit of that then give them no more than say 350-400w.

Oh and let me tell you there is a WORLD of difference in these speakers when you go from 100w to 300+!
