8" sub question

I have a 2004 screw with the audiofile system in it. What I'm wondering is which would be the best 8" sub that would fit in the factory enclosure. Gonna be running an Alpine V12 500 to it. Also was wonderng, is anyone using the type r alpine speakers and how are they? Thanks

honestly, trying to stuff a new 8" sub into the stock enclosure is not going to sound any better then the stock woofer itself. i suggest you buy a 10" woofer with a 5" mounting depth or so, and build a box for it(or buy one of you dont wanna build). this will give you much more sound and will be a better investment. thats what im doing

The new style Alpine Type R door speakers sound good. The old style sounded muffled IMO. The new styles are the ones on their website now. The only thing is that you MUST run an amp to them to get them to sound good. I have a 90x4 Alpine amp running my type r door speakers with dynamat and it sounds great!
If you dont want to run an amp, but still want to stick with Alpine, the Type S speakers would be a really good option. They dont have as much bass as the type Rs, but still a good all around speaker and a definite step up from oem.
